Chilean Forest
222 million years hence

Not all parts of Pangaea Ultima are deserted wastelands. Coastal regions further away from the supercontinent are cooler and wetter, watered by rain that could never make its way to the continental interior. These regions support tropical and subtropical forests. One of these forests extends across the southwestern coast of Pangaea Ultima, at one point the dry western coast of South America.

The forests of southern Pangaea Ultima are home to many strange creatures. Birds burrow through the forest floor, and many arthropods can be found above. Froglike terrestrial fish root through the leaf litter for food. Raptorial moths prey on the smaller fauna of the forest. Higher in the canopy, four-winged reptiles swoop around the trees.
